The tree-lined streets, trendy nightclubs and multimillion dollar homes that help make Seattle’s Capitol Hill one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in the country hide a troubling imbalance – the reality that excludes most of its residents, workers, students, and unsheltered people from the basic cornerstones of urban livability.
The Capitol Hill EcoDistrict is actively working to support all members of the Capitol Hill community by improving public health and wellness, promoting environmental resilience, and enhancing connectivity to help create more inclusive spaces and activities across the neighborhood and throughout Seattle.
The Public Life Planning pilot projects will engage diverse communities to create and liberate public spaces, beginning with a project on Howell Street.
